"Designing a showroom is like designing a great home theater -- it must feel comfortable and home-like while still providing performance excellence," explains Chuck Chiles, LEED AP, project manager at RBDG for the Audiovisions project. "However, a showroom has to meet an additional challenge; the customer must be given an understanding of how the great technical result was accomplished. The Audiovisions facility does that masterfully with hidden components that can easily be revealed to the visitor."
RBDG's extensive theater design experience began with developing THX criteria and solutions for United Artists, followed by the design of hundreds of THX theaters across the country for UA as well as General Cinema, AMC and Cinemark. This expertise has developed into inspired architectural and acoustical designs for corporate training and demonstration theaters, custom listening environments and award-winning private home theaters.
