Scripps Networks Interactive reported a 14% rise in profit, to $65.3 million, for the third quarter. While overall revenue was flat, the Cincinnati-based company's Lifestyle Media unit, which includes cable channels Food Network and HGTV and their respective Websites, saw a 4.3% rise, to $326 million. Profit at the unit was up 8.3%, to $150 million.
Scripps Networks confirmed Nov. 5 that it reached a $975 million deal with Cox Communications to acquire a 65% stake in Cox's Travel Channel.
